The Intramuros Administration was established in 1979, by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1616. It is responsible for the orderly restoration, development and promotions of Intramuros. IA is charge of the restoration, development, and promotion of Intramuros.
Intramuros (Spanish for "within the walls") is the oldest district and historic core of Manila, Philippines. It is also called the Walled City; it was the original city of Manila and was the seat of government when the Philippines were a component realm of the Spanish Empire. Districts beyond the walls were referred as the extramuros of Manila, the Spanish for "outside the walls"
We have been commissioned to rebrand its identity - modern and geometrical based on the affinity of the original eight gates, churches and the walls which were eight feet thick. The colors are representation of the wall foundations that has withstand time and witnessed numerous sunrise and sunsets.
